Compare the information, not investment claims
When comparing company-data websites, examine their reporting sources, update dates, accounting basis and coverage. A visually polished dashboard does not establish data quality.
Questions for a comparison
- Can you locate the original company filing behind a figure?
- Are standalone and consolidated statements distinguished?
- Are historical restatements, missing values and units explained?
- Are screening results based on user-selected limits or editorial recommendations?
- Are fees, advertising and commercial relationships disclosed?
Separate data services from regulated services
Data presentation and securities recommendations are different activities. If a provider offers research recommendations or personal investment advice, verify its relevant registration and the scope of its service directly through SEBI’s official resources.
